"NAVIGATING THE CHAOS: A DEEP DIVE INTO THE "KAREN "ARCHETYPE.
In a world where social interactions often spiral into chaos , the term "karen " has emerged as a symbol of entitlement and confrontation. What a title you may think , who hurt you ? some may ask. I’ve had my own fair share of dealing with the mighty queens and i say queens as all my experiences have been with women . I’ve had an experience with one male" karen” if i’m allowed to use that as i still havent found a name to describe problematic men bear with me ya’ll. But firstly allow me to give you a quick description of who or what a Karen is.
Google describes a Karen as a middle class white American woman who is perceived as entitled or excessively demanding . Again guys that is what google tells me incase of any questions, take it up with them ha ha . Also do not be deceived Karens’ can also be found right here at home in Africa and they somehow come as a full package . These ones will not demand to speak to your manager but will automatically involve you in a verbal exchange battle so pick your poison and pick it wisely he he . If you are lucky enough to find one that extends some grace to you hold on to your faith and prepare to be summoned , sit through the dramatic exxagaration , perservere the constant clicks and jeering and life will be fine but at the expense of that days mental health.
I vividly recall this one time i was sending a prompt to a certain middle aged lady , well aren’t they all?. So the website was acting a bit funny and i immediately told her to cancel the transaction as it would deduct a larger amount not the one that was set. She looks at me jeeringly while inserting her pin and asks “what if i’ve already paid ?”. I go back to my duties while pulling an internal “ whatever happened to humility”, mind you i believe this lady had gone back to her car to fetch something hurriedly. She comes back a few minutes later and i could see how infuriated she was, she walks past me and goes to my supervisor , believe me when i tell you that this lady could yap . I would be lying if i tell i could’nt feel my face turning hot. All this time i stood there hearing her throwing accusations knowing very well that it was entirely her fault. How was it my fault if she felt like being the new school “mother santa ". I apologise to her and this lady immediately pushes me to the side its the audacity for me ya”ll. This was my exact face as i watched her walk by . I was like God save your daughter.
And another interesting thing is like all Karens have a weird hairstyle, no i didn’t manage to take one of her but i found something i found funny on google lol.
